Maurice Jakesch
I am tenure-track faculty at Bauhaus University in Germany, where I lead the Computational Social Science Lab.
Maurice Jakesch earned a Ph.D. in Information Science from Cornell University, where he conducted research advised by Mor Naaman. His research was generously supported by the German National Academic Foundation, the National Science Foundation, and the Cornell Digital Life Initiative. His work has been presented to the U.S. Senate and the White House Advisory Council, and has been featured in the Wall Street Journal.
He completed a B.S. in Electrical Engineering at ETH Zurich and an M.S. in Information Technology at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He holds an M.A. in Philosophy of Science and Technology and an honors degree in Technology Management from TU Munich. Furthermore, he has completed study and research visits at the University of Toronto, NTU Singagore, Harvard and MIT.
Jakesch has worked on large digital transformation and AI projects at the Boston Consulting Group. He collaborated with prominent industry and startup teams, including Microsoft Research, GE Digital Foundries, and Facebook Core Data Science. He also contributes to the Bauhaus University startup initiatives as a member of the Neudeli Startup Jury.
